How to Exclude Folders from the Scan?
Exclude Directories works as a blacklist: a search directory and all its sub folders are still scanned, except for the paths listed here.
Step 1: Click + in Exclude Directories
Next to Exclude Directories click + and choose the folder to skip.

Step 2: Manage the excluded paths
- − removes the selected path.
- The broom button clears the whole exclude list.
Step 3: Scan as usual
Nothing else changes: files under the excluded paths are simply ignored, and the status bar counts only what was actually scanned.
Good candidates to exclude
- Backup folders that are supposed to contain copies.
- Video editing projects with proxy or render output.
- System, cache and temporary folders.
- Huge folders that are irrelevant to the cleanup you are doing.
Tip
Excluding is faster than splitting your search directories into many small paths, and it keeps the original folder structure intact.
